The signature shirting is woven in rayon on a loose twill structure, and that is what produces the fluid drape and the cool hand: it hangs from the shoulder rather than standing away from it, and it has none of the raised nap that brushed cotton has. The trade-off is that it wrinkles more readily and takes a crease from folding.

Gently, and cold. Rayon loses strength when wet and shrinks in heat, so a tumble dryer is the main risk; hang or lay flat to dry instead. Wash cold on a delicate cycle or by hand, leave the bleach alone, and use a cool iron or a steamer on creases. Care varies between colours and finishes, so the individual garment label is worth reading rather than assuming.
