A trolley sleeve is a fabric band stitched across the back panel of a bag and open at both ends, so it slides down over the extended handle of a wheeled case. It stops a shoulder bag sliding off the case in an airport and takes the weight off your shoulder entirely. Look for a sleeve at least 10cm wide with reinforced stitching at each end, since that seam carries the whole load.

Cabin rules in most countries limit liquids, gels and aerosols to containers of 100ml or less, all fitting inside one transparent resealable bag of about a litre, roughly 20 x 20cm. A leather or canvas cosmetic case does not replace that clear bag at security, though it holds the clear bag and everything solid.
