With the blazer fastened, you should be able to slide a flat hand between the front and your body without strain. Sleeve length and waist suppression are straightforward alterations, so buy for the shoulder and adjust the rest.

A classic biker, the double-rider shape, has an asymmetric zip set well off to one side, a wide notched lapel that folds back, a belted waist and zipped chest pockets. A moto jacket is the softer descendant: a centred or slightly offset zip, a smaller stand collar, quilted or ribbed panels at the shoulder and elbow, and a shorter, closer body. Moto styles usually use lighter, more supple leather than a true biker.
