Men's Coats

Insulation and length decide a coat long before colour does. Parkas sit at the heavy end, built with down or synthetic fill, storm hoods and a hem that drops past the hip to cut wind at the leg. Overcoats work the opposite way, tailored through the shoulder and chest in wool or wool blends, cut to fall cleanly over a suit jacket without bulk.

Raincoats trade warmth for a sealed outer face, with taped or bonded seams and a finish that beads water rather than holding it, while trench coats keep the same weather brief and add the double-breasted front, storm flap and belted waist that define the cut. Weights run from packable technical shells to dense melton and gabardine, and details such as horn buttons, throat latches and quilted linings separate one from the next.
