It is the interlocking YSL monogram the house uses as its identifying mark, and it appears as a metal plaque or a stamped closure rather than an all-over print. On the bags it usually sits centred on the flap and frequently doubles as the fastening itself. Because it works as hardware, the finish matters: gold, silver and black-toned versions read very differently against the same leather.
