The 90cm square is the classic, and the size is what makes it flexible: folded on the bias it ties at the throat, opened out it covers the shoulders or the head, and it will knot around a bag handle or a waist. A 70cm square is easier to manage day to day and sits neatly as a neckerchief without bulk, but it will not drape across the shoulders. Around 55cm you are into bandana territory, hair and neck only.

Check the care label first, because a lot of printed silk is dry clean only. If the label allows washing, do it by hand in cool water, no warmer than 30C, with a few drops of pH-neutral detergent or baby shampoo. Move it through the water rather than rubbing, rinse until the water runs clear, and never wring it. Press it between a folded towel to draw out moisture, then dry flat and out of direct sunlight, which fades dye. Iron on the silk setting from the reverse while it is still slightly damp. No bleach, no tumble dryer, no soaking.
