Women's Platform Shoes

Height is only half of what a platform does; the angle of the foot is the other half. Whatever sits under the toe cancels an equal amount of the heel, so a tall pair can hold the foot at a gentler pitch than a lower heel with nothing under the front. Flatforms take the idea to its conclusion with an even slab front to back, while platform sandals, pumps and Mary Janes keep a defined heel above the front sole. Platform boots run the same construction under a shaft.

Heights range from a slim hidden lift built into the sole to sculpted columns several inches deep. Cork and jute keep the weight down and read warm, EVA stays light and springy, rubber trades some of that lightness for grip, and stacked leather or lacquered wood keeps the outline crisp. Uppers cross the full range, from smooth calf and suede to patent and canvas.

Women's Platform Shoes

How do you work out the real heel height on a platform shoe?

Subtract the platform from the heel. A five-inch heel over a two-inch front sole leaves an effective drop of three inches, which is what your foot actually feels, and it is the number that decides comfort rather than the headline height. Measure the platform at the ball of the foot, not at the very tip of the toe, where soles often taper. Rigid platforms hold that figure; soft foam compresses under load, so part of the drop you thought you had saved quietly comes back.

Are platforms easier to walk in than heels of the same height?

Usually, because of that reduced pitch — less weight tips onto the ball of the foot, and the ankle sits at a shallower angle instead of being held in a steep one. The trade-off is a thicker, stiffer sole that flexes less at the toe, so your stride shortens and you feel the ground less clearly. Chunky platforms are also heavier and raise the ankle further from the floor, which makes rolling an ankle more likely on uneven pavement. A wider base helps more than a narrow one.

Are DIHSAN's platform shoes authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN platform shoe order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.

Can I return a platform shoe purchase at DIHSAN?

Yes. Eligible platform shoes can go back within 14 days of the ship date, for store credit rather than cash, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Items discounted 70% or more — plus swimwear, intimates, and limited-release styles at any discount — are final sale.
