Men's Leather

Weight is the first decision in a leather jacket, and the rest follows it. A heavy hide holds its shape off the body and takes months to give, so it wears in slowly and keeps a hard edge at the collar. A light lambskin, or a vegan polyurethane finish, moves from the first hour and sits close enough to layer under a coat. Mid-weights carry most overshirts, soft over knitwear but firm enough to keep a placket straight.

Cut separates the rest. The biker leans forward, cropped and asymmetric, belted at the hem, with sleeves pitched for a bent arm. The bomber sits square, ribbed at the cuff and waist. Coats run longer and looser through the chest, and trousers keep the leg narrow, so look for a little stretch in the panel or a lining that lets the leg move. Hardware counts as well, since heavy zips and a full lining change how a jacket hangs as much as the leather itself does.

Men's Leather

How long does a leather jacket take to break in?

It depends on the material. Lambskin and goat are soft from the first wear and settle within days. A mid-weight cowhide eases over four to six weeks of regular wear. A heavy hide can take a full season, softening first at the elbows, the shoulders and the hem, where it flexes most. Vegan leather is usually polyurethane over a fabric backing, so it has no fibre to stretch: it feels the same on day one and on day two hundred, and never moulds to you. Nothing safely speeds a hide up either, and heat or oil will darken and weaken it. With hide, buy snug through the shoulders, since the body relaxes with wear and the shoulder seam does not. With a vegan finish, buy the fit you want to keep.

Can leather clothing be worn in the rain?

Light rain does no harm to a finished hide or a vegan polyurethane surface, since both shed it. Blot the piece dry with a cloth, hang it at room temperature and let it dry slowly; a radiator or a hairdryer will stiffen and crack a hide and can lift a coated surface off its backing. Suede and nubuck are the exception, as the open nap drinks water and marks, and they want a spray protector before winter. Conditioner is for hide only and does nothing for a vegan finish. Winter road salt leaves white tidelines on either, so lift them with a barely damp cloth while they are fresh rather than letting them dry in.

Are DIHSAN's leather pieces authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN leather piece order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.

Can I return a leather piece purchase at DIHSAN?

Yes. Eligible leather pieces can go back within 14 days of the ship date, for store credit rather than cash, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Items discounted 70% or more — plus swimwear, intimates, and limited-release styles at any discount — are final sale.
