Women's Leather

Finish decides how a leather garment reads long before the cut does. A polished surface catches the light and holds a crisp line, while matte and lightly grained skins soften instead, taking the shape of the body within a season. Coated and vegan finishes sit between the two: a polyurethane face over a fabric backing keeps colour even and shrugs off marks, though it creases like anything else. Weight follows from there. A light skin such as lamb drapes into a skirt or a slip-cut dress, and a heavier one holds structure through a blazer or a long coat.

Construction shows in the seams. Panelled bodies follow the waist, raw-cut edges leave the material unturned, and quilting or topstitching adds body where a soft skin would fall flat. Trousers are cut close; in hide they give a little at the knee and the seat with wear, while coated and vegan versions hold their measurements. Jackets ease first at the elbow and the shoulder, which is where a good one starts to look worn in rather than worn out.
