The label started in 2009 with acid brights, oversized graphics and sweatshirt shapes, set against a Milan built on quiet suiting, and that contrast is still the point; a print is treated as structure rather than decoration, so a dress reads as a block of colour before it reads as a dress.

Logo scripts stretch over the back of a t-shirt or sit small on the chest, denim carries print where another house would leave it plain, and knitwear takes ruffled collars and embroidered lettering. Most MSGM ready-to-wear is cut on the Italian numeric scale. As a working guide, IT 36 sits close to a US 0 to 2, IT 38 near a US 2 to 4, IT 40 near a US 4 to 6, IT 42 near a US 6 to 8 and IT 44 near a US 8 to 10. Jersey pieces, knitwear and sweatshirts are more often labelled 2XS through L instead, so the same wardrobe can carry two different systems.

What are the signature design details across MSGM collections?

Look for the print doing structural work. MSGM tends to run one saturated colour across an entire garment, or drop a large graphic across the back of a t-shirt, sweatshirt or denim jacket while keeping the front close to plain. The logo appears as a stretched script, an embroidered block or a small chest print, and the colour is rarely broken up by contrast panels or trims.
