MEN'S AND WOMEN'S
Isabel Marant Étoile
Étoile is French for star, and it marks the easier register of the Isabel Marant house — the line that takes the label's Parisian-bohemian language and loosens it into things you actually reach for. Where the main collection sharpens, Étoile softens: washed cotton, slubbed linen, knits worn slightly too big, and embroidery used as texture rather than as occasion.
The pieces are recognisable at a glance: broderie anglaise and floral-print blouses, prairie-influenced dresses with smocked or elasticated waists, denim cut high and straight, a flannel shirt with the seams doing the shaping, an oversized cardigan in undyed wool. Print and colour are part of the vocabulary here rather than the exception, and they sit against a bed of neutrals the line keeps returning to.
