Rise sets where the waistband lands — low on the hip, mid at the top of it, or high at the natural waist — and it changes the proportion of the whole outfit more than the leg does. Leg line runs from tapered through straight to wide. The two are chosen independently, so a low rise can be wide and a high rise can be tapered. Both are listed per style.
