How much weather a windbreaker turns comes down to the shell. A tightly woven face fabric blocks wind on its own, and a water-repellent finish adds a margin against drizzle without making the jacket waterproof. Lightweight packable shells fold into their own pocket or a pouch; heavier coach jackets and half-zip anoraks hold more structure and more warmth.

Hoods differ by style: some are fixed, some adjust on a drawcord, some roll away into the collar, and plenty of jackets skip the hood altogether. Elastic or drawcord hems and elasticated cuffs set how close the jacket sits, mesh and taffeta linings decide how much air moves through it, and zip pockets keep contents in when the wind is up. What is the difference between a windbreaker and a rain jacket?

A windbreaker is a single-layer shell built to block wind while staying breathable. It usually has a water-repellent finish that beads off drizzle for a while, but the seams are not taped and there is no waterproof membrane, so sustained rain eventually comes through. A rain jacket adds that membrane or coating plus sealed seams, which stops water but traps more heat and moisture inside. Choose the windbreaker for cool, dry, windy days and for layering.

Can you wash a nylon windbreaker at home?

Usually yes, if the care label allows it. Close every zip, turn the jacket inside out and wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent — powder and fabric softener both leave residue that flattens the water-repellent finish, so skip both. Air dry, or tumble on low. A short low-heat tumble or a warm iron under a pressing cloth can reactivate a tired finish; if it no longer beads at all, a spray-on treatment restores it.

Are DIHSAN's windbreakers authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN windbreaker order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.
