Men's Mid-Thigh Shorts

Halfway between hip and knee is where most shorts settle, and the reason is proportion: the leg stays visible without the hem swinging near the kneecap. Chino and twill cuts hold that line with a flat front and a fixed waistband, while drawstring and elasticated shapes take the same length in a softer register. Sweat shorts run wider through the thigh, and training cuts narrow the leg, adding split or curved side hems so nothing catches mid-stride.

Pocket placement and hem finish do the rest, from slash or patch pockets at the front to a welt at the back, with the leg cut straight or gently tapered. Cotton twill presses flat and softens over time; French terry and brushed fleece sit heavier and hold their shape; linen blends crease as you wear them. Nylon and technical weaves run light and keep a crisp edge at the hem.
