Men's Short & Mini Shorts

Once the hem clears the mid-thigh, cut matters more than length. Retro athletic shapes sit high on the waist and flare slightly through the leg, while running styles either open a split at the side seam or arc the hem higher over it, so the stride is never caught. Lounging cuts drop the waistband to elastic and a drawcord; tailored short shorts hold a flat front and a set inseam, reading closer to a trouser cropped high.

The waistband decides the rest: a fixed tab-and-hook closure holds the waist in one place, elastic gives at the top of the hip, and a drawcord splits the difference. Cotton twill and lightweight canvas keep some body; jersey, French terry and knitted cotton fall soft; nylon, ripstop and technical shells run weightless and hold a crisp hem. Mesh panels open the leg where movement is heaviest.

Men's Short & Mini Shorts

Are 5-inch shorts too short if I'm tall?

Not necessarily, because inseam reads proportionally. A 5 inch inseam sits just above mid-thigh on someone around 5'8", and the same 5 inches on a 6'3" frame sits slightly higher again, since the thigh it is measured against is longer. The correction is smaller than most people expect, though: thigh length grows only a fraction of an inch for every inch of height, so scale the inseam up a little rather than jumping to a much longer cut. Rise is a separate question — inseam is measured from the crotch seam, so a higher waistband changes the proportion above the hem, not where the hem lands.

What is the difference between a split hem and a curved hem?

A split hem cuts the outside seam open for the last inch or two, leaving two overlapping panels that separate as the leg swings forward. That is maximum range for minimum fabric, and the reason racing shorts look the way they do. A curved hem keeps the seam closed but arcs the hemline higher at the side, freeing the thigh without exposing it. Split hems run cooler; curved hems are easier to wear off the track.

Are DIHSAN's shorts authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN shorts order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.

Can I return shorts bought at DIHSAN?

Yes. Eligible shorts can go back within 14 days of the ship date, for store credit rather than cash, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Items discounted 70% or more — plus swimwear, intimates, and limited-release styles at any discount — are final sale.
