Bangle size comes from your hand rather than your wrist, because the bangle has to clear your knuckles to go on. Fold your fingers together with the thumb tucked in so it touches the base of your little finger, then wrap a tape measure or a strip of paper around the widest part of the hand and mark the overlap. That circumference is your bangle size. If it falls between two sizes, take the larger one.

Measure the broadest part of your wrist snugly with a tape or a strip of paper, then add for fit: about a quarter to a half inch for a close fit that stays put, three-quarters to one inch for a comfortable drape, and around one and a quarter inches for a loose one. A tennis bracelet is usually worn at the snugger end so the stones stay facing upward, while a charm bracelet needs the extra room to move.
