Women's Tracksuit Bottoms
The hem does most of the work on a pair of tracksuit bottoms. A ribbed cuff gathers the leg and pushes the volume up towards the hip; an open, straight hem keeps the line falling to the floor; a zipped or split ankle sits between the two and opens over a shoe. Above that, the rise runs high or mid, the waistband either draws in on elastic and a cord or sits flat and unbroken, and the leg reads slim, straight, wide or flared.
A full length breaks on the shoe where a cropped one stops clear of the ankle, and side stripes, panels and piping trace the seam. Loopback cotton and brushed fleece hold warmth and shape; lighter jersey and technical wovens run cooler and dry faster, with a smooth nylon or polyester face on the shell styles. Pockets are set into the seam or zipped, and drawcords finish in metal or moulded tips.
