Men's High Top Sneakers
The collar is the point of a high top, and how far it rises changes the shoe completely. Mid-tops stop just at the ankle bone and read closest to a low profile with extra structure. Full high tops climb above the ankle bone, padded and lined, closing the gap between shoe and boot. A handful go higher still, wrapping the lower shin with a zip or a strap.
Court silhouettes keep a slim cupsole and a clean, unbroken toe; basketball-derived shapes add moulded midsoles, ankle padding and reinforced eyestays. Skate-leaning versions sit on vulcanised rubber and build the collar and heel up for impact. Uppers run through smooth and tumbled calf leather, suede overlays, canvas and knit, with cupsole and vulcanised constructions giving very different amounts of flex underfoot.
