Men's Slippers & Loafers

Everything here holds the foot without a fastening, so the vamp and the throat opening do all the work. Loafers rely on a plain saddle, a slotted penny strap, a bit or a tassel across the instep to hold the foot steady. Belgian and slipper styles cut lower and lighter, carrying a small bow at the throat and sitting close to a house shoe.

Driving shoes wrap rubber pebbles up the heel and stay flexible; mules and backless slides drop the counter entirely. Some come lined in shearling or felt for indoors, others sit on a leather or lightweight rubber sole that handles pavement. Suede, velvet, polished calf and woven leather set the register, and construction ranges from a soft unlined slipper to a fully welted shoe.

Men's Slippers & Loafers

What is a Belgian loafer, and how is it different from a slipper?

A Belgian loafer is built on a slipper pattern but finished as a shoe. It sits very low on the foot, exposing more of the instep than a penny loafer does, and carries a small bow at the throat. The construction is light and unstructured, usually over a thin leather sole. A true house slipper has a soft sole meant only for indoors, whereas a Belgian is made to be worn out, though the light build wears through faster than a welted shoe.

Should you wear socks with loafers?

Either works, but bare feet need something between skin and lining. If you go sockless, use a no-show liner with a heel grip, because direct contact drives sweat straight into the leather or suede and shortens the life of the shoe. With socks, thin ribbed cotton or fine wool adds just enough volume to keep the low vamp from gaping at the sides. Cedar shoe trees between wears pull moisture out and hold the vamp in shape.

Are DIHSAN's loafers authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN loafer order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.

Can I return a loafer purchase at DIHSAN?

Yes. Eligible loafers can go back within 14 days of the ship date, for store credit rather than cash, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Items discounted 70% or more — plus swimwear, intimates, and limited-release styles at any discount — are final sale.
