Blue Industry

A shirt worn open at the neck has to do more work than one held down by a tie, and that is the shirt Blue Industry keeps coming back to. Collars are cut to hold their shape unaided, fabrics are chosen so a long day does not show on them, and the result carries enough structure to look considered without ever reading formal.

Around the shirts sits a full wardrobe. Blazers come in woven cloth and in knit, cut soft with minimal padding through the shoulder; overshirts and chore shapes in plaid or brushed cotton work as a light jacket; turtlenecks, zip-front knits and hooded sweatshirts handle the layers underneath; and overcoats in microcheck wool take the outer layer. Trousers and polos round the whole thing out.
