It is a woven band carrying repeated lettering, applied as a structural trim rather than a label. You will find it running down the outseam of leggings and trousers, along a shirt placket, around a cuff or hem, and as the elastic on a waistband or sports bra. Because it is stitched or knitted in rather than printed on, it holds its colour far better than a surface graphic.

Turn the piece inside out and wash cold on a gentle cycle so the print faces away from abrasion. Leave it out of the dryer, since heat is what makes a large graphic crack and lift. Press on the reverse only. Pieces with logo tape or elastic lettering benefit from a mesh laundry bag, which stops the trim catching on zips and hooks in the drum.
