Read the flat measurements rather than the letter on the label. Much of this is drawn oversized at the pattern stage, so the garment already carries the width you might otherwise size up for, and going a size above that puts the shoulder seam halfway down the arm. Chest width and shoulder are the two numbers that decide it; length is easier to live with than either, and boxy cuts are usually shortened to compensate.

Construction, mostly. The silhouettes come from streetwear, with wide legs, dropped shoulders, cropped hems and graphic surfaces, but the making sits closer to tailoring: lined outerwear, weighted jersey, finished seams and hardware picked deliberately. The result holds its shape through repeat wear instead of collapsing after a few washes, which is the usual difference between a heavy hooded sweat and a cheap one.
