TOTEME

TOTEME's womenswear reads as a single wardrobe rather than a set of seasons. A cashmere crewneck in blanched almond, a merino cardigan in ivory, wide pleated trousers, a curved-seam T-shirt, jeans in a pale steel wash: the pieces are built to sit beside each other for years without any one of them dating. The Swedish label edits colour down to a handful of neutrals so that cut and cloth carry the whole argument.

Where a detail appears, it is structural. Seams curve across the body to shape a T-shirt without darts; trousers pleat from the centre so the leg falls clean; the scarf coat builds an oversized fringed scarf straight into the collar of a boxy wool-blend bouclé, a shape much imitated since it arrived. Nothing shouts, and the monogram, when it shows at all, is embroidered in the same tone as the cloth.
