MEN'S AND WOMEN'S
Stella McCartney
A rule about materials, held from the very beginning, shapes everything this house makes. Stella McCartney is a British luxury label that has never used leather, fur, feathers or exotic skins, which meant its bags and shoes had to be designed around that absence rather than cut from the usual hides. The answer became a look in itself: the Falabella, edged in diamond-cut chain and finished with a hallmark medallion, is recognisable across a room without a logo doing any of the work.
The clothing follows the same logic of sharp lines and few decisions. Tailoring is cut with a mannish shoulder and softened by fluid trousers and dresses, while knitwear and jersey carry the everyday range. In footwear the Elyse platform, raised on a wooden wedge, is the house's most recognisable shape.
