Prada's signature is a reversal: the plain material treated as the precious one. The Milanese house began as a leather goods shop in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then made its name by cutting industrial nylon with the seriousness usually reserved for calfskin — a reversal that continues in Re-Nylon, the recycled version of that cloth, woven from reclaimed rather than virgin fibre. The leather side of the house answers with Saffiano: calfskin stamped in a fine cross-hatch and finished to resist scratching and light rain.

The rest of the vocabulary is just as recognisable. A small enamelled triangle sits where another house would put a monogram; hardware is kept quiet; and the clothes lean on dry, technical fabrics and clean-lined tailoring, with colour held to a narrow, deliberately unshowy range. Intelligence over ornament, applied with unusual consistency.

What is Re-Nylon?

Re-Nylon is the recycled version of the technical nylon the house is best known for, introduced so that the material most associated with Prada could be made from reclaimed rather than virgin fibre. Visually and to the touch it behaves like the original: matte, tightly woven, water-shedding and light. It appears across outerwear, bags and small accessories, usually finished with leather trims and the triangle plaque.

What is Saffiano leather and how do I keep it looking new?

Saffiano is a fine cross-hatch pattern pressed into treated calfskin. The stamping and the finish together make the surface unusually resistant to scratching and light rain, which is why it turns up on the pieces that get handled most. Care is simple: wipe with a soft dry cloth, deal with marks quickly using a barely damp one, and keep it out of prolonged direct heat.

Are DIHSAN's Prada pieces authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.
