MM6 Maison Margiela

A plain white label printed with the numbers 0 to 23, one of them circled: that is how this line identifies itself, and it is the whole design argument in miniature. MM6 is the Maison Margiela line marked by the number 6, and where the main house attaches its label with four white stitches left visible at the corners, MM6 runs a line of white stitching straight across the top instead.

What follows is anonymity used as a style. Garments are cut with exaggerated volume and unfinished-looking detail, so shoulders drop, seams sit exposed, a shirt is reworked into a dress and tailoring is enlarged past its own proportions. Accessories carry the same thinking, above all the Japanese bag, a triangular tote whose shape comes from folding rather than seaming, on origami principles. It reads as ordinary clothing until you look at how it has been made.

Frequently asked questions

All FAQ's

MM6 Maison Margiela

What do the numbers on the MM6 label mean?

The label carries the house's lines as a block of numbers from 0 to 23, printed in black, and the figure relevant to the garment is circled. On MM6 pieces that circled figure is the 6. The numbers themselves do the identifying, in place of a name or a logo, which is why the label reads more like a chart than a brand mark. On MM6 the label is held down by a line of white stitching across the top, which is the quickest way to place a piece at a glance.

What is the Japanese bag?

It is MM6's best-known accessory: a tote whose triangular silhouette comes from folding rather than from panels seamed into a box, taking its geometry from origami. Snap buttons at the corners let it be folded back on itself, so one bag can be carried in more than one shape. It appears in leather, nylon, canvas and denim, across sizes from a small shoulder version to a large carryall, and carries no external logo — the marking is the line of white stitching.

Are DIHSAN's designer pieces authentic?

Yes. Every piece DIHSAN sells is the brand's own — genuine designer product, with the maker's hardware, stamping and markings intact. Nothing is a reproduction or a licensed imitation.

Will I be charged duties on a DIHSAN designer piece order?

No. Duties are included on every DIHSAN order, and US orders include taxes as well.

Can I return a designer piece purchase at DIHSAN?

Yes. Eligible designer pieces can go back within 14 days of the ship date, for store credit rather than cash, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Items discounted 70% or more — plus swimwear, intimates, and limited-release styles at any discount — are final sale.
