MEN'S
Rains
Most men's rainwear announces itself. Rains takes the opposite route: a matte polyurethane-faced fabric, a straight body, a hood that holds its shape and almost nothing else to look at. The result reads as a coat rather than as kit, which is what lets it go over a suit jacket on a Tuesday and a hoodie on a Saturday without changing register.
Long jackets and shorter anoraks carry the menswear side, with insulated and padded styles for winter and lighter shells for travel. Backpacks, holdalls and messenger shapes come in the same coated fabric, sized for a laptop and a day's worth of gear, and caps, hats and small pouches finish it. The palette holds to black and muted neutrals; the fit sits closer to a topcoat than to a technical jacket.
