Waist definition is the point of a belt long before it is asked to hold anything up, and the braided straps from the Parma workshop draw that line without bulk. A woven strap is built from many fine strands rather than cut from a single hide, so it follows the body instead of standing away from it, and it shapes the waist rather than cinching it.

The plain leather belts are handled with the same restraint: clean edges, even grain, buckles chosen for proportion instead of decoration. A narrow strap over a dress or a knit draws a line at the waist without weight, while a wider one holds a coat closed and does the work of a sash. The two-tone braids are the outlier, and they read best against something plain.
