What is the difference between the swim and resort pieces and the main ready-to-wear?

Swim and resort covers what is worn in and around water — swimwear itself, plus the cover-ups and light layers that go over it — cut in quick-drying cloth and made to be packed. Ready-to-wear is the broader clothing collection, worked in cotton, linen, silk and lace, with more construction and more detail in the making. The two are designed to sit together rather than apart, so a resort piece rarely looks out of place once you are away from the water.

What fabrics should I expect, and how do they behave?

Lightweight naturals dominate: cotton and cotton voile, linen, silk and viscose, often combined with lace or an openwork panel. Linen and voile crease by nature, which is the fabric behaving as it should rather than a fault, and silk should dry in shade, never on a hot line or over a radiator. Where a garment carries lace or embroidery, that panel dictates the cleaning method for the whole piece, so check the composition before deciding how to wash it.
