Men's outerwear from SOIA & KYO starts with what goes underneath it. Length is the first decision — a topcoat cut to clear a suit jacket, a parka that stops at the hip so it moves with you, a longer shell that covers the leg when the weather turns — and the shoulder, the sleeve and the body are all drawn around that decision rather than the other way round.
Material follows the same logic. Wool blends give an overcoat a clean vertical line and enough weight to sit properly over a heavy knit. Down does the work once the temperature drops, packed into hooded parkas and quilted jackets fitted with storm cuffs, wind flaps and two-way zips. Lighter shells cover rain and the in-between weeks. Across the range the emphasis falls on details that earn their place — deep hand pockets, an adjustable hood, a hem you can pull in against wind — rather than anything decorative. It is the kind of thinking you only really notice in February.
