Generation Love

Generation Love builds from the fabric outward. The New York label picks a cloth with a character of its own — crepe, tweed, linen, glen plaid, vegan leather — and then cuts it plainly, so the material does the work that applied trim would otherwise have to do. It is a discipline more than a look, and it is what keeps a finished piece from tipping into costume.

The construction follows from that. A narrow, clean shoulder line runs through the tailoring, crepe gives weight without stiffness and holds a pressed edge, ponte and structured blends turn up where a jacket has to keep its shape, and mesh and lace are used as a layer rather than a whole garment. Where the house does decorate, it puts the crystal on jersey and denim and leaves the tailoring alone.

Because the texture is built into the yarn, a cool press on the reverse is enough; high heat flattens the surface.
