Adidas Originals
There is a category of shoe a man buys once, learns the size of, and then simply repurchases. The archive Adidas court shoe is the clearest example: a low upper in leather or canvas, a thin rubber sole, three stripes at the side, and no design decisions left to regret later. It has outlasted every trend that briefly adopted it, largely because it was equipment before it was anything else.
Originals is the heritage side of the German company's output, marked by the Trefoil rather than the Performance logo, and it covers more ground than the court shoes suggest. Knitted running pairs on thick cushioned midsoles sit under the same mark, built for a different kind of wear entirely. Colour tends to decide how hard a pair works: black, white, navy and gum go with most things, and anything louder becomes a deliberate choice.
