Elizabeth Arden was a Canadian-born American businesswoman and a pioneer in the cosmetics industry. Born Florence Nightingale Graham in 1881 in Canada, she moved to New York City in the early 1900s and began working as a beauty consultant. She later opened her own salon, and in 1910, she founded the Elizabeth Arden company. Arden was known for her innovative and high-quality products, such as the first-ever “Travelers’ Beauty Kit” and her signature “Red Door” perfume. She was also the first to introduce eye makeup to the United States and was a pioneer in sunscreen and other skincare products. Arden was passionate about helping women feel confident and beautiful, and her products became synonymous with glamour, femininity, and luxury. Elizabeth Arden’s legacy continues to this day, with the brand producing a range of skincare, makeup, and fragrance products that are sold in more than 120 countries around the world.
